“Neftçi” PFK football player Matheus Saldanha has a loan contract until January 2024 and recently told the club management that there was a very good financial offer from the "Partizan Belgrade".

Player stated in his last interviews that he had a contract with “Neftçi” and would stay with the team until the end, but now asked the club's management for permission to leave after this offer. However, club's management has repeatedly informed him that they do not want to release him from team in current situation, that is, at the beginning of the season, a few days before UEFA Europa Conference League matches. Despite all these warnings, Matheus Saldanha has avoided participating in training session with the team for various reasons in recent days, and he did not participate in training session held on 24.07.2023 without permission.

Management officially informed both him and his manager about such behaviour of player. It was stated that “Neftçi” PFK, regardless of their identity, will not forcefully retain anyone who puts material above all else, who is not attached to its colors, who is not ready to fight for jersey. Therefore, it was decided to expel Brazilian player from team.
