He is a bomber in a team with strong players, so being a star is a very difficult task. Because the whole team is staring at him, and the main thing - to score a goal. Mashallah Ahmadov was such a stubborn and star football player in Neftchi.
Mashallah's arrival to football begins in one of the dusty streets of Ganja. Although he was the youngest, he was distinguished by his game. Once, after a game in the neighborhood, a man in a white shirt approached him and asked him to come to the football section tomorrow. That person was Konstantin Abramenko. Thus, in the summer of 1967, under the auspices of an experienced coach Abramenko, Mashallah joined the youth team of the Locomotive Society. Training on the football field three times a week was the greatest gift for a small child. Because his family was large, he had been accustomed to hard work since childhood. Mashallah recalls: “My father was a hard worker, and he taught us to be neat and precise at work. As a result, I was able to train and improve my tricks, to pick up speed, to attack from the wings and from the center. ”
Muzaffar Gasimov, the head coach of Ganja Dynamo, likes Lokomotiv's match against Baku's Reserve Labor Forces. Thus, Ahmadov's path opens to Dynamo. News of Mashallah soon reached Baku, and he was invited to the main team of Azerbaijan in 1977 at the initiative of Neftchi's head coach Gennady Bondarenko.
Ahmadov, who spent his first seasons adapting to the team, has been at the heart of the offensive line since 1980. Despite his young age, he was able to scatter the opponent's defenders, and was able to play well on both sides of the attack. During the USSR, meetings between Caucasian teams were distinguished by their principledness. Mashallah scored a hat-trick in one of such tense games, in the match with Tbilisi Dynamo. A player like Chivadze could not keep Ahmadov in the opponent's defense. The culmination of Mashallah's career was 1986. The central press was already commenting on the game of the player, who disappointed the opponent's goalkeepers 13 times that year. In his article, Yuri Vanyat, a journalist with the then-popular Football-Hockey newspaper, called Mashallah a footballer who would continue the good traditions of Anatoly Banishevsky and Kazbek Tuayev. Thanks to his performance, he was called to the USSR Olympic team, and at the end of the season, Ahmadov, who appeared in matches with Romania and the USSR, was included in the list of "33 strongest football players" in the USSR. The player, who played for Neftchi, was last included in this list 15 years ago. Ahmadov was the team's top scorer for the seasons from 1986 to 1988. Even when Neftchi leaves the strong team, he does not leave the team, he wants to help his teammates by playing in the first league. However, injuries during his career do not allow him to play at full strength. Thus, in June 1989, he appeared in the game with "Rostselmash" for the last time and ended his career in "Neftchi".
