He was born on October 4, 1968 in Ganja.

During 1987-1991, he played 165 games for Neftchi and scored 61 goals. In 1990, he was named the best football player in Azerbaijan.

The striker, who appeared in 14 games for the Azerbaijani national team in 1994-1998, worked as a sports director (2008-2009, 2015-2016) and head coach (2016) at Neftchi.

He was the assistant head coach of the national team of Azerbaijan (2011), the head coach of the U-19 national team (2011-2012), the coach of the U-17 national team (2006-2007).
